549. Tatikawa Ki 54
=2021-11-27 sat canon ps sx40hs=
An Army's Tatikawa Ki-54 / Type 1 twin-engine advanced trainer which had been at the bottom of Towada lake for years. It returned to the originally manufactured place at Tatikawa and is publicly dipalyed this time.
Since it is displayed as it is, the inner structures are well understood.
To my surprise, it is all metalic with twin-engine and retractable landing-gears.
The "type 1" means it was officially adopted in the imperial year of 2601, i.e. Showa 16 / Christian year 1941. So it was designed 80 years ago. And only after 38 years of 1903 Wright brothres' powered flight.
548. Lunar eclipse

Today falls on the day of a lunar eclipse.
Unfortunately clouds appeared one after another. A shot at a break of the clouds.

547. An upside-down bottle

A honey bottle from Canada.
The bottom mouth enables an instant supply. And looks to have a non-return valve for an immediate stop.
The pattern resembling a bee's body is also nice.

546. Myouken worship

A nearby small shrine.
Its emblem is "
tuki hosi mon (moon star insignia) as in the photo.
I feel we rarely see this emblem, though I am not so sure.

Acc. to the description by the shrine's parishoners;
This crest is relating to the Myoken bodhisattva who deifies the North Star and the Big Dipper.
The guardian deity of the Chiba clan who had controled this area in the medieval times was that bodhisattva.
545. Shako-ba saboten

A
shako-ba saboten has just started blooming nicely.
This one was bought last autumn, and has grown up and brought about the flowers again.

543. The moon and Venus

The Venus has been shining in the evening sky since about the summer.
Today, Nov. 8th, is the day the Venus is eclipsed by the moon. As it occured in day time, it must have been difficult to observe by naked eyes.
=2021-11-08 mon ps sx40hs=
The photo shows the crescent moon and Venus in the evening today. As this is immediately after the eclipse, they are apart only about 1 degree.

541. A plaque of Raiden*1

A monument of honor for Raiden Tameemon in front of a nearby temple.@Though a part is cramped, it reads;

The brush writing is said to be by Sakuma Shouzan
*2.
=2021-10-30 sharp aquos sh-01l=
This is said to be a life-size figure of Raiden. That's why the plaque is so large. Acc. to the description beside, his height and weight at mature period were 6
shaku*3 and 5
sun*4, and 45
kan*5 (corresponding to 197 cm and 169 kg).
It also notes his achievements; For 21 years, 34 tournaments, 254 wins and 10 losses, draws, hold-overs, no matches, etc. and win rate of 96.2 %.
The reason the plaque is here is that Raiden's wife is from this place and he spent his remaining years here after his retirement. Their grave is situated a 10 minute walk away.
The description also notes the following.
In
Tenmei*6 1st year, he became a disciple of a sumou school at Sinshu

540. Pottery village
=2021-10-29 fri canon ps sx40hs=
A good weather brought us to Masiko town even if the usual "Masiko Autumn Pottery Fair" seeems to be suspended this year too.
The photos are for the "Hamada Shoji's Memorial Museum" and an
aka-tonbo found in front of its gate.
Still too early to have the autumn colours.
